For several
years life revolved around my music. I came to California to play
music and did just that. In the process I managed to earn an MA degree
in music composition from Claremont Graduate University.
For those that don’t know, I taught in the music department
at California Polytechnic in Pomona for a couple of years before
going out to make a living as a saxophone player. I also played
bassoon in orchestras for a short while. I played with several bands,
made several recordings, and had a great time in music. I think
you would be hard pressed to find any of those recordings today.
I can still be heard, for those interested and are in the Claremont
area, playing with one of the Granite Creek Community Church worship
bands once or twice a month. From time to time I still manage to
sit in with some of the blues bands that play the local Claremont
clubs.
